A Chicago-based healthcare staffing agency is expanding into 10 new states, and Spartanburg is one of its target markets.
The company is called BrightStar Healthcare, and it provides both medical and non-medical staffing for home health, hospital and nursing home settings.
BrightStar currently has four company-owned locations in Chicago, and it is currently working to expand into 10 other states, including South Carolina.
“Our plan is to be national, with about 300 locations in the next three years,” said Shelly Sun, the company’s founder and president.
During this quarter BrightStar is focusing its expansion plans on South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida. Later, the company will also target Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
In South Carolina, BrightStar plans offices in Spartanburg, Greenville, Columbia and Charleston.
Sun said her company chose the expansion states because of their high concentrations of senior citizens.
All of the expansion locations will be franchised offices, Sun said.
The initial investment for a BrightStar franchisee is between $55,000 and $80,000.
